In October 2004 opened the new Felsentherme with experience spa,  rest and an outdoor spa, panorama-wellness-area and a fitness zone. Indoor swimming pools in the hotels, therapies and cures in the Healing Gallery (Heilstollen), and 17 hot springs containing radon.

Bad Gastein in summer:
90 km of hiking-paths (whole valley), tennis courts, 1 indoor-court, 18 hole golf course, cycling, 1 riding stable, paragliding, mountain-climbing, fishing, hunting, fitness-centre, children and activity programs.

Bad Gastein in Winter:
200 km of slopes with 48 ski lifts (whole valley)and 90 km cross- country trails (whole valley)- 12 km of them with reliable snow conditions until springs at the high altitude trail at 1600 m; Floodlight fun on piste at Bucheben and flood-lighted cross-country trail in Böckstein. Further there is a ski school, cross-country-school, ice- skating rink, toboggan slide and curling courts. Cleared paths for winter walks, horse-drawn sleigh rides and the possibility for ice climbing.
